New Years Resolutions

I know what all my viewers have been thinking...
"Where has he been?"
"Is he sick?"
"When will he be back?"
"How did I get here!?"
"I hate Bing"
I took a break for the holidays to get my creative juices flowing again. I did this because my main goal here is giving my readers the best product on the internet, full of researched and highly acclaimed posts, so that they can learn and be more valuable members of their society educated on the issues facing them in today's world.
"I believe he's talking about a....banana slicer?"
I decided I should finally post, because no one wants to read about New Years resolutions in July, and  because without any recent activity my viewers are likely to find another blog like daily puppy and leave mine.
Honestly....I wouldn't blame you
So it's January, a time ripe for those New Years Resolutions. Why do we partake in such a strange tradition of allowing a calendar date to dictate paths in our life? No one really knows, anyone who has ever studied that question gave up two weeks after pursuing it. When I was young my mom would sit the entire family down and we'd write down our resolutions. We would write 5 goals for a given topic such as education, social, exercise, etc. I honestly don't remember all of them I just remember there was a lot it seemed by the end of the night I had developed carpal tunnel syndrome from all the goals I was planning on achieving.
"You can stop writing as soon as you run out of pencil son."
I'm glad I did this for one it taught me great penmanship and two it taught me how to make realistic goals as there was nothing more depressing then reaching late October and realizing I had yet to accomplish one goal on the novel I had written. It was also during this time that I realized I looked like the best child in my family if my list had more checks than anyone else. So in honor of my ingenious childhood today I am going to help the whole world....
Actually (being realistic) I better start with my whole family and work from there
to make more realistic goals. So to help you all out I am going to comprise unrealistic goals and then below them a more realistic goal....

Unrealistic Goal: Wake up every morning at 6
Realistic Goal: Wake up

Unrealistic Goal: Work out everyday
Realistic Goal: Brush your teeth once a week

Unrealistic Goal: Start a Business
Realistic Goal: Learn to spell the word "B-u-s-i-n-e-s-s"

Unrealistic Goal: Read an entire book
Realistic Goal: Watch a movie

Unrealistic Goal: Go on a Cruise
Realistic Goal: Learn to use Cruise control in your car

Unrealistic Goal: Eat healthier
Realistic Goal: Eat a gross looking bug

Unrealistic Goal: Improve Finances
Realistic Goal: Find out what the word Finances means

Those are just a few but the whole point here is if you lower the expectations for yourself you'll always end up on top. I mean who are you more impressed by the guy who's supposed to be able to do a job doing it or the guy who has never said a word saying "Petaluma, California." Just my two cents though keep those resolutions...and roll tide.
